KTM RC 125 Engine

 About KTM RC 125

KTM followed the success of the 125 Duke with its faired sibling, the RC 125 in India. The motorcycle gets the same aggressive styling as the other RC models including the projector headlamps accompanied by LED DRLs, turn indicators and tail lamp. It also gets the same step-seat design along with the fully-digital instrument console.
However, as part of the BS6 update, KTM is offering the RC 125 in a new white, orange and black livery. It also gets a revised version of the 124cc, single-cylinder engine to comply with the emission norms. This motor produces 14.3bhp and 12Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The RC 125 continues to ride on inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is taken care of by a 300mm front disc with a Bybre radial caliper and a 230mm rear disc along with a single-piston Bybre caliper. The system is assisted by single-channel ABS.

And In terms of competition, the KTM RC 125 goes head-on against the Yamaha R15 V3 as they both are closely priced.

 RC 125 Action

PROS

  • Has a refined and potent 124cc engine
  • Offers good handling
  • Excellent braking setup

CONS

  • Riding position is too aggressive for city riding
  • Is pricey
  • Could get better features

The Final Verdict

The KTM RC 125 makes the RC brand more accessible and is aimed at novice riders wanting a fully-faired motorcycle. The bike gets top-spec suspension and braking setup along with a refined engine. And while the bike gets a commited riding position that is good for the race track, it can be uncomfortable to ride in the city.
